Hans (my 5th great-grandfather) was the son of John Michel Funderburk and grandson of Adolph Ver Der Berg and Princess Elizabeth of Berg (Germany). He married Catherine Laney, daughter of Titus Laney and Christine Heister, ca 1755 in South Carolina. Their children were Mary Ann, John, David, Elizabeth, Catherine, Abel, Joseph, *Jacob, Henry, Sarah „Sally“, William Laney and George Washington Funderburk, all born in S. C. Hans‘ siblings were John Michel Jr., George, David, Nathan, Amon and Abel Funderburk.
